We work with the qualities of Earth Elements because we are never separate from the vibrations that give us life as they arrive in our bodies from the fire (sun), air, the ground, and the water that passes through us. We also include the element of Spirit in the list, making five influences we use to help balance, transform, and heal.
Each imbalance in the body has a corresponding Earth Element that might become altered from our personal set-point of optimal health. Symptoms do not suddenly arise. They grow gradually as the body balance is altered. This means, we might be influenced by too much water within our constitution, or too little. We might lack harmony between elements as they all need to balance in order to experience dynamic wellness. There could be too much fire, not enough water; or too much earth and not enough air. Or there could be too much spirit, when the body cannot relate to its human walk through life. Our assessments come from healing wisdom passed to us from our ancestors who used the only medicine they knew – Earth Medicine. Everything we need for our greatest health is available to us through the elements.
To learn about the Earth Element that are influencing a body, we do a visual body scan noting posture, demeanor, breathing, speaking, gestures, sleep and awake patterns, skin tone, muscle tone, eating patterns, water quality and quantity, and mental activity. We ask questions about preferences and habits. Surprisingly, we can tell in a very short time just what elements are too strong and which are too weak.
We listen to the sound of the Earth Elements in the speaking voice because a balanced body has a speaking voice that is capable of making all tones in equal use during conversation. We have a computer program that records the tones used most often, and those that are only infrequently used. When we are missing a tone altogether, we are also missing the opportunity for the brain to support vital organs, bones, tissues, blood, and the living spirit within us.
In all sound healing work, we honor the presence of the Earth in our bodies, minds, and spirits as the Source of All.
